The aim of this study was to evaluate the interaction between different temperatures and C02 levels in the germination and early development of seedlings of different species of pumpkin. Seeds of Cucurbita pepo - cultivars Caserta and Redonda - and Cucurbita maxima - cultivar Coroa - were sown in trays of 36 cells and held in growth chambers with different combinations of levels of C02 and day/night temperatures. |

? Abstract: Nanoparticles come from widely used materials, as metals. This process of element transformation is a consequence of the current development of nanotechnology. The aim of this work was to evaluate the toxicity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on theaquatic bioindicator test-individual Chironomus sancticaroli. The compound showed ?almost non-toxic? behavior to the individuals by obtaining a LC50 of 186 mg L-1 AgNP after acute exposure. For the cronic exposure a LC50 (95 mg L-1) and a LC10 (35 mg L-1) were calculated. The value of No Observed Effect Concentration was obtained from the LC10, which can, along with values from other organisms, help to determine an allowed concentration of AgNPs in water by governmental regulated agencies.
